You’ll be spoilt for choice with our five fabulous Suffolk restaurants

3rd July

Fish and chips, Bru styleSorry that it’s been a while since I spoke to you all. I’ve been spending a lot of time at The Crown at Woodbridge, which is opening again for business on the 20th July after some major renovation work. If you’d like to be the first to sleep in our fabulous new bedrooms or dine in our 85 seater restaurant, why not make a booking. Log onto the website www.thecrownatwoodbridge.co.uk or email Stephen or Rebecca on manager@thecrownatwoodbridge.co.uk
I feel extremely fortunate to live in Suffolk, as it’s a great place for food lovers, whatever the time of year. Our five properties all have excellent restaurants and our chefs work closely with local suppliers who share a strong commitment to ethical farming and the protection of the environment. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to dine in our restaurants, here’s a run down.

The White Lion in Aldeburgh continues to be a tradition for local foodies and tourists alike. We’ve got a fabulous dining offer at the moment and you can enjoy a two-course lunch from £9.95 or three-course dinner from just £15.95. 01728 452720 www.whitelion.co.uk and click on latest offers

Seafood, just perfect by the seaThe Bru really comes into its element when the sun shines and our new summer menu lends itself perfectly to al fresco dining at lunchtime and in the evening. We’ve recently introduced Fishy Thursday Fish and Chip suppers for just £8.95, so why not push the boat out and treat all the family. This offer is available on Thursdays only and is served from 5.30-7pm. To book a table, visit www.thebru.co.uk or call us on 01728 452071.

Thorpeness Hotel continues to be a favourite and its peaceful setting by the Meare is perfect for a traditional Sunday roast. Afterwards, walk off your meal and explore the scenic footpaths surrounding the golf course, before returning for afternoon tea served on the patio or cosy lounge. To book a table call 01728 452176 www.thorpeness.co.uk

The Swan at Lavenham still flies high and meals have been flying out of the kitchen, especially at lunchtimes since we introduced our 2-course lunch for £10 offer. This offer runs from Monday to Fridays until the 30th September (excludes 31/8. Our afternoon teas are proving to be popular too. We’ve gained a reputation for them, but then we do serve them on tiered cake stands… and we cut our crusts off too! Call 01787 247477 or email bookatable@theswanatlavenham.co.uk
